In this part of the story, we will continue outlining Titan's journey to CAD efficiency, exploring and documenting their Engineering Systems and Processes, and providing on-going CAD Admin support through our MCAS service.
Now, We Can Document Your Processes
As Titan’s team grew, so did their need for structured onboarding. Repeating the same in-person training courses for new hires was becoming expensive and inefficient. That’s when Converge delivered a full Engineering Systems Process Review (ESPR). This documentation captured every aspect of the PDM and master model workflow, and today it serves as the template for onboarding new team members. The result of the ESPR is a living document that acts as a guide for new employees to understand company procedures and techniques. This document houses everything from info around SOLIDWORKS licensing, to PDM file structures, and data creation standards. These important details about a given CAD infrastructure are often tribal knowledge that is disparate and difficult to locate, but now Titan has a document they can hand to all new engineering hires that explains how they will do their jobs.
To support the system long-term, we introduced Managed CAD Administration Services (MCAS). With no need for an in-house admin, Converge now handles all CAD and PDM changes remotely—ensuring best practices are followed and updates are seamless.
New engineering staff was needed due to Titan's newly found ability to take on and knock out jobs, which facilitated the need for an ESPR - Roadmap.
